Abstract

The article tackles relevant problems concerning the types of nominal declension in the Ingush language. Scientific basis on this issue is insufficient. There are no special studies on types of declension in the Ingush linguistics. The Ingush declension system is complicated. Its complexity is caused by frequent root vowel alternation, which still exists in the modern Ingush language though it is not determined by phonological conditions. The mentioned problem is relevant not only for the Ingush linguistics but for the Caucasian studies in general.
