Abstract

This paper describes the characteristics of sandwich-type thin transformers with a fine-grain Mn-Zn ferrite core and three kinds of arrangements of planar windings. Thin transformer with primary and secondary conductors positioned alternately have excellent load characteristics. The results of the flux distribution analyses in the transformers with three kinds of winding structures show that the above mentioned transformer with primary and secondary conductors positioned alternately has good flux coupling between primary and secondary windings even when load current is flowing.
