Abstract
The present article deals with the semantic types into which paired aspectual verb forms generally distribute. The basis for analysis is provided by Maslov's five established common categories of paired aspectual verb forms distribution, as well as Glovinskaia's four established categories. The aim of the article is to discuss some cases of unexpected distribution of paired aspectual verb forms in modern Bulgarian language so that Maslov's model of distribution of aspectual verb form pairs is further elaborated and specified. The article pays special credit to Glovinskaia's system of classification and its relevance to the grammatic category of the aspect in Bulgarian. Special attention is paid to the cases when her framework loses its relevance with respect to the verb aspect in Bulgarian.
