Abstract

The recent politological discourse of different countries shows an increased interest in the phenomenon labeled «imperialism». Such characteristics as «political Imperialism», «economic imperialism», «cultural imperialism», «informational imperialism» occur. There are many theories of imperialism, explaining its establishment and development. The analysis of the history and the current foreign policies of Russia uses definitions such as «revolutionary» and «restaurational» imperialism. In turn, Russian propagandists accuse Western imperialism for «propelling the world to conflict». It is suggested to revise the phenomenon of imperialism from a historian’s viewpoint. The issue is even more topical because of the aggressive police of Moscow in relation to Ukraine, the post-Soviet space and the whole world, manifesting the everlasting imperial nature of imperialism of Russia.
