Abstract

The purpose of this study was to introduce a leisure program which suitable for elderly characteristics. The actual conditions of leisure participation and satisfaction by elderly`s individual characteristics, this study was basic research to develop elderly leisure education program The results of this study were showed below. First, the motivation of participate for leisure program from the actual conditions of leisure participation by elderly`s individual characteristics that the motivation of participate leisure program was `health` or `improve health`, participate rate was `3-4 times a week`, education fee was `middle`, teacher type was `teacher who teaches right now` were higher than others. The preference education place was `welfare facility`, the highest participation rate program for elderly education organ was `hobby program , the request program and more allocated amount of time was `calligraphy`. Second, leisure satisfaction through leisure program was higher on `malee `unemployed`, `married`, and `yes` for religion part. 71-75 years old part had highest satisfaction rate and over 76 years(M=13.63) part had lowest satisfaction rate. For the education, university graduated(M=12.36) had highest satisfaction rate and uneducated(M=13.73) had lowest satisfaction rate. For the pocket money, 26-30 thousand won(M=12.56) part had highest satisfaction rate and below 10 thousand won(M=13.96) had lowest satisfaction rate and the subjective health situation, strongly healthy(M=10.60) had highest satisfaction rate and strongly weak(M=16.30) had lowest satisfaction rate. In conclusion, in order to have professionality of elderly education, elderly education program should focus on the leisure activity education which emphasize the specialization and counsel or education for entire elderly life also, increasing elderly`s manage ability cope with social change.
