Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the structural relationship between positive psychological capital, post traumatic growth, and post traumatic stress among university taekwondo athletes. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 291 university taekwondo sparring athletes, and data were collected. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results revealed several key findings. First, within positive psychological capital, self-efficacy and resilience had a positive impact on post traumatic growth. Second, within positive psychological capital, self-efficacy and resilience had a negative impact on post traumatic stress. Third, post traumatic growth had a negative impact on post traumatic stress. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of attitudes toward using trauma as an opportunity for growth, as well as positive psychological capital elements such as self-efficacy and resilience, in preventing and coping with post traumatic stress among university sparring athletes.
