Abstract

The combination of surface and underground mining with the use of common industrial infrastructure at operating open-pit mines and those under construction is defined by the geotechnological potential of the integrated development of Kuzbass coalmines using the combined mining method. The description of key characteristics of technological solutions for coal deposits development by the surface, underground and combined methods are introduced in the article. The novelty of this work lies in developing the priority directions for combining open-cast and underground geotechnologies in a single mining method with the advantage of using unified industrial infrastructure for development of mineral deposits. The application area of open-pit coalmine opening and development schemes based on modular mining and technological structure of the combined method covers the range of conditions in operating, designated and prospective open-pit coalmines in flat-lying coal seams of Kuzbass.
