Abstract

초록·키워드 목차 오류제보하기 The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of women"s appearance instrumentality, appearance concern and appearance management behavior. Data were collected from questionnaires of 243 women in their 20s and 30s living in Daegu. The data were statistically analyzed using frequency analysis, Cronbach"s α, factor analysis, logistic regression analysis, multiple regression analysis and t-test. Factor analysis was used for appearance instrumentality and appearance management behavior, and appearance concern was classified into two groups based on their mean value after factor analysis. This was used to analyze the study problem. The results of this study were as follows: Appearance instrumentality did not significantly influence the appearance concern group and appearance instrumentality significantly influenced appearance management behavior. Social achievement significantly influenced speciality beauty management behavior and basic beauty management behavior, and lover relationship significantly affected plastic surgery behavior and fashion behavior. However interpersonal relationship did not significantly affect appearance management behavior. There was a significant difference in the appearance concern group for all five factors of appearance management behavior(speciality beauty management behavior, body management behavior, plastic surgery behavior and basic beauty management behavior , hair management behavior, fashion management behavior). In conclusion, this study provides basic data for formulating marketing strategies for appearance industry-related markets according to the perception of appearance instrumentality.
