Abstract

This study was conducted for Taekwondo Poomsae (TP) instructors in the training field to explore the problems that occur when instructing TP players in high school teams. This study aims to provide the basic data for TP instructions. The subjects were male and female instructors in their 40s to 60s who trained high school teams in each region across the country, and research data were collected for 4 months. The subjects were asked the following question: what do you think is the biggest problem in the training field as a high school team TP instructor? Theresponse result was as follows. First, what they recognized as important was the burden of training high school players who had to enter college through entrance exams. Second, when they instructed high school TP players in the field, they felt they needed more professionalism and felt sorry about this lack of professionalism. Third, they pointed out the administrative problems of the Korea Taekwondo Association and the intensive holding of competitions during a specific period. Such problems have not been addressed by sports organizations or the KTA yet. It is the high school players who have ultimately suffered from these problems, and TP instructors are concerned about this situation.
