Abstract

The features of electromagnetic and electromechanical processes when starting powerful synchronous machines from a thyristor frequency converter with indirect determination of the rotor angular position. are considered. The sensorless methods for determining the initial position of the rotor are analyzed. It is shown that the instantaneous starting of a stationary synchronous machine in a strictly specified direction of rotation and the passage of a low rotation speed while optimizing the operation of a dependent current inverter in a pulsed mode can be achieved by determining the position of the rotor by the combined use of the rotor position sensor simulator and the Observer. The influence of the stabilizing or correcting effect on the program control by the angular position of the rotor and the Observer filter is estimated. Examples of practical implementation are given.
