Abstract
A study of the comparative biological activity of a natural antimicrobial peptide isolated from trypsin hydrolysate of cow colostrum and its synthetic analogue was carried out. It was found that the isolated peptide consists of five amino acids and has a molecular weight of 407 Da. According to a search conducted on the Antimicrobial Peptide Database, the isolated peptide has 100 % similarity to the peptide AP01406 obtained from Eisenia foetida and has antiviral, antimicrobial and antitumor effects. The analysis of the chemical and physical properties of the peptide, screening of the results obtained by the Protein NCBI and Antimicrobial Peptide Database databases suggests that the isolated peptide has antimicrobial properties. A threephase synthesis of a natural analog peptide was carried out. It is proved that synthesized and natural peptides have antimicrobial and antifungal activity. The biological activity of the synthesized peptide is slightly higher than the natural one.
