Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference of demographic variables according to perception value, positive emotion, and exercise intention of sports participants.BR Method: For the purpose, the final analysis was conducted with 500 participants who participated in exercise at five sports centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do by the convenience sampling method excluding 41 cases with distorted responses. The collected data were validated by frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis. Then, correlation analysis, one way ANOVA, and regression analysis were performed to obtain the results.BR Results: The results of the study are follows. First, emotional value was more perceived to female than male in gender factor, one of the sub factors of perceived value according to demographic factors. Emotional and social values were more perceived to 1 to 2 years of registration period than over 4 years. Exercise frequency was more perceived to 3 to 4 times, 4 to 5 times in a week than 1 to 2 times in functional, emotional and social values. On the other hand, positive emotions and intention to exercise had a statistically significant difference in gender, registration period, and exercise frequency. However, exercise time had no significant difference in demographic variables. Second, Emotional and intellectual values influenced positive emotions and intention to exercise, among the sub factors of perceived value in the causal relationship between perceived value, positive emotion, and intention to exercise. Positive emotions had a significant effect on the intention to exercise. BR Conclusion: In summary, as the exercise intensity and frequency increase p articipants in the sports center realize perceived value, positive emotions, and adherence intention more. Perceived value, positive emotion and exercise adherence intention are in interactive relations.
