Abstract

Statement of the problem. The educational process in the Physical Education discipline is constantly being improved and developed in Russian universities, since the requirements for training specialists are also constantly growing and expanding. Universities of the country use different approaches to the organization of the educational process in the Physical Education discipline. One of them is a sports-specific approach to the physical education of students at a university, described in a dissertation study for a PhD degree in Pedagogy by S.A. Doroshenko1. The approach is based on the student’s choice and determination to pursue the sport on which his/her further classes in this discipline will be based. The list of sports disciplines is determined by the educational organization, which in turn forms this list based mainly on the sports infrastructure of the university. In this connection, the list of sports specializations, and as a consequence, the choice of students, is limited by the presence of a particular sports facility at the university. In our study, we consider lapta game as a possible sport for organizing specialization with a sports-specific approach when organizing physical education classes with students at a uThe purpose of the study is a theoretical justification of the effectiveness of conducting classes on lapta game for university students as part of a sports-specific specialization in the discipline of physical education. The research methodology consists of the analysis of regulatory documents in the field of higher education, scientific and methodological literature in the chosen direction, as well as synthesis of the experience of teaching physical education for university students. Research results. The article considers lapta game as one of the specializations in the sports-specific approach to organizing classes in the discipline of physical education at a university. The advantages and disadvantages of this sports-specific specialization are identified, and plans for further pedagogical experiment as part of the continuation of the study are described. Conclusion. With a sports-specific approach to organizing classes in the discipline of physical education for students, lapta game can be considered as one of the most suitable game sports with this model of organization of classes. Lapta has a low entry threshold, with regard to the technical and physical requirements for students. The rules of the sport game make it possible to give classes and competitions both on a sports field (street) and in a universal sports hall. These conditions ensure the maximum availability of lapta game as a sports-specific specialization for students and for educational organizations.
