Abstract

Problem setting. Despite the fact that the processes of gradual integration of Ukraine into the European space have been going on for a long time, a number of problems in this area remain relevant: namely, the insufficient level of conscious support for the process of European integration by the broader Ukrainian society at large; a significant imbalance in the level of support for the population towards European integration in different regions of Ukraine; misunderstandings among the general public about the linkage between European integration processes and rising standards of living. In this context, it is relevant to study the theoretical and methodological foundations of public policy in the field of European integration in order to identify the effective mechanisms for its formation and implementation and to consider different scientific views and approaches to determine the nature and content of these mechanisms.Recent research and publications analysis. The research of theoretical and methodological foundations of mechanisms of formation and implementation of state policy in the field of European integration has been done by such scientists as: Bakumenko V., Bondarenko V., Butivchenko S., Maksimenko S., Muravyov V. and others. However, many issues regarding the definition and content of mechanisms for shaping and implementing state policy in the field of European integration in the face of the current challenges remain poorly understood.Paper objective. The purpose of the article is to determine the nature and content of the mechanisms of formation and implementation of state policy in the field of European integration.Paper main body. The mechanism of formation and implementation of state policy in the field of European integration is a way of actions of state authorities and bodies of local self-government through a set of methods, tools, measures, means, incentives in order to deepen Ukraine's connection with EU policy and its participation in programs and agencies, and ensuring enhanced political dialogue in all areas of mutual interest for the gradual integration of Ukraine into the EU.Within the framework of the conducted research the following mechanisms of formation and implementation of the state policy in the sphere of European integration are distinguished: political-security, financial-economic, organizational-administrative, institutional-legal, information-communication, which should function not individually, but systematically, complementing and coordinating, if necessary, each other. The formation and implementation of state policy in the sphere of European integration of Ukraine is closely linked to the creation of reliable and effective mechanisms for ensuring political stability, democracy and security; modernization of all spheres and sectors of the Ukrainian economy and increasing the competitiveness of the domestic producer, its entry into the world markets (first of all, the EU countries); attracting foreign investment and innovative technologies and, as a result, creating new jobs; ensuring socio-economic stability by achieving high European standards. Conclusions from this research and perspectives of future development in current area. Thus, effective use of the separate mechanisms of formation and implementation of state policy in the field of European integration will allow to solve the existing problems in this sphere. In addition, in the current context, the issue of forming and implementing a relevant state policy in the field of European integration is a necessary prerequisite for ensuring the sustainable development of the country, and in the long term, membership in the European Union.
