Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of ‘Mural Painting’ project activity in kindergarten on young children’s drawing representation ability and pro-social behavior. The research questions for the study were as follows: 1. What are the effects of ‘Mural Painting’ project activity in kindergarten on young children s drawing representation ability? 2. What are the effects of ‘Mural Painting’ project activity in kindergarten on young children s pro-social behavior? The subjects were 48 five-year-old children attending kindergartens which are located in G City and H City, consisting of 24 children in the experiment group and 24 children in the control group. The experiment group experienced the ‘Mural Painting’ project activity for 9 weeks, while the control group did the common art education activities. As research tools, drawing representation ability test and pro-social behavior test were used. The data were analyzed by t-test. The results showed that ‘Mural Painting’ project activity in kindergarten had positive effects on improvement of young children s drawing representation ability and pro-social behavior.
