Abstract
This Paper focuses depopulation areas which are increasing recently in Japan, proposes evaluation method of validity of maintenance and renewal for infrastructures related to these areas and migration of all residents from the areas, and conducts empirical analyses for actual depopulation areas in southern Chiba prefecture using the method. Through the analyses, calculation methods of migration costs and maintenance and renewal costs of infrastructures are shown and it is indicated that initial costs for migration and non-monetary costs after migration are much smaller than monetary costs after migration.
