Abstract
The research features' of the socio-cultural patterns of self-identification in contemporary Ukrainian society through analysis of this issue in the civilizational-globalisational dimension of mankind. This article is distinguished the main trends of socio-cultural development in aspects of postmodernism, the prevalence of consumer-material values, which are derived from the features of personal characteristics of person.There is explained the essence of mentality as genotype of society, its internal attributive component that saves features of the social organism and its individualcharacteristics of development and existence. The dominant markers of globalized reality are distinguished such as: postmodernism, «bifurcation» person, the formation of a new information order, narrative of spiritual, that are inherited in modern Ukrainian society and reflected nonequilibrium system with its version of post- bifurcation development, that is dictated by the hierarchy of modern Ukrainian' values.Mental field is represented as a cultural-genetic semantic outline, the functional algorithm of social-cultural environment, preconditions of its development and existence. This work is considered historical-cultural peculiarities of mental formation of Ukrainian society and represented the perspective of strengthening universal humanitarian and ecological values.The main socio-cultural components of Ukrainian mental field are: openness and extroversion; originality; tolerance and loyalty; love of freedom and individualism; religious and natural orientation. So, ethno-cultural self-identification is one of the most important components of the collective identity that generates the mental basis of some culture and it defines a vector of its development.This type of self-identification reflects cultural traditions, mentality, ethnic self-consciousness, lifestyle of society and perspectives of its development in the global socio-cultural sphere.
