Abstract

The Hadith of the Prophet is the second source of Shari'ah. The Qur'an contains basic instructions and principles, the implementation of which is not possible without the guidance of the Sunnah of the Prophet. The pillars of Islam are the best examples of this. Hadith is a divine revelation like the Qur'an. Just as it is necessary to memorize the Qur'an, so it is necessary to memorize the hadith. For this great purpose, the narrators started compiling the hadith. He rendered invaluable services in this field. In this regard, the Ottoman Caliph is of great importance. During this period, new trends arose regarding the compilation of hadith. In this field, an unforgettable body of knowledge came into being. Translations and interpretations of various books of hadith were written. Footnotes were written to facilitate the use of ancient books of hadith. This article is aimed to bring under discussion the efforts of muslim scholars of ottoman era in the field of hadith sciences.This study concludes that like the previous eras of muslim empires there were also many muslim scholars in ottoman empire who produced rich literature of hadith sciences.
