Соціально-економічні та педагогічні передумови розвитку теорії фізичного виховання в Україні в другій половині ХХ століття

Abstract

The article describes socioeconomic and pedagogical prerequisites for the development of the theory of physical education in Ukraine in the second half of the XX century. It has been proved that the theory of physical education in Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century was formed under the influence of important socioeconomic and pedagogical transformations, which took place from the end of the XIX century to the mid 1950’s. The research has established that the system of physical education developed on the basis of radical socioeconomic and pedagogical transformations that took place in the country during the state-building. The prerequisites for creating a system of the physical education theory in Ukraine began to emerge from the second half of the late XIX century. It has been revealed that the period right before wars, during and between them is characterized by attempts to approximate physical education to military needs: the social and pedagogical movement for the formation of physical culture at school had a significant influence on the process under study. Consequently, the main directions of modernization of physical education were determined: the content improvement, and the substantiation of principles and methods of training. Typical drawbacks of the development of physical education in the post-war period have been described. These were the lack of gyms and specialists, which was due to the social and economic difficulties.
