Abstract
Ablepharon-macrostomia syndrome (AMS) is a very rare genetic pathology characterized by abnormal phenotypic manifestations that primarily affect the head and face. The most noticeable anomaly is absent (ablepharon) or underdeveloped eyelids and a large mouth (fish-mouth syndrome) — macrostomia. The article presents a case report in a one-and-a-half-year-old girl with eyelid aplasia of both eyes, which required reconstructive plastic surgery. For this purpose, a plastic surgery with a free flap was successfully performed, and after 4 months a frame protection plastic surgery using the «Alloplant» biomaterial was done to eliminate recurrent lagophthalmos, to form the cartilage of the eyelids and to strengthen them. A few years later, the Alloplant dispersed biomaterial was used in the cicatricial parts of the eyelids and palpebral fissure was lengthened.
