Abstract

The article examines backgrounds for appearance in the Russian religious space of such a phenomenon of liturgical music as a Protestant hymn. The paper aims to analyse influence of the textual component on the Russian Protestant religious discourse. Contrary to previous researches, the study focuses on the problem of influence of translated liturgical songs texts on the Russian Protestants’ worldview. The conducted research shows that translated hymns texts introduced into the Russian Protestant discourse certain new concepts represented in the original Russian-language hymns. These concepts are still relevant for the Russian Protestant discourse.
