Abstract

The authors substantiate the main role of a climatic factor in the development of health tourism (HT). In Altai Krai, HT is being currently developed in ten tourist destinations. Regional spatial features of distribution of primary and complex climatic characteristics affecting the tourism organization in warm and cold periods of the year were identified. To assess the degree of weather impact on people, equivalent-effective temperatures and bioclimatic indices of cold-induced discomfort were calculated, heat supply and the degree of climate comfort for recreation were analyzed. The complex analysis made it possible to reveal the most climatically favorable tourist destinations for HT development in Altai Krai (i.e. all the year round - in forest-steppe foothill and low-mountain areas as well as in mountain valleys of forest low-mountain Altai, whereas during the warm period – in forest-steppe, including foothill and low-mountain areas).
