Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of airline cabin crews" career plateau on career turnover intention and empirically elucidate the moderating effect of supervisor and coworker support on the relationship between career plateau and career turnover intention. It attempted to provide several suggestions for drawing up measures to develop human resources used to reduce the negative effect of airline cabin crews" career plateau on their career turnover intention. The key results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, although structural career plateau did not have a significant effect on career turnover intention, content career plateau has a significantly positive effect on it. Second, both supervisor and coworker support were found to moderate the relationship between content career plateau and career turnover intention, from the test of the moderating effect. The findings thus suggested that above all, it is necessary to actively manage the content career plateau of cabin crews, core employees, and that both supervisor and coworker support may play an important role as a management method.
