Abstract

The library as a social institution, in the conditions dictated by the processes of digitalization of the economy, performs the most important adaptive function, contributing to social stability, expressed in the preservation, exchange and dissemination of the accumulated spiritual, scientific and technical potential, which necessitates the formation of new, innovative approaches to managing its activities. The key issue is the formation of a long-term strategy for the implementation of cultural policy, including in terms of creating a single information space for authors, readers, publishers and book trade enterprises. The paper considers the principles of strategizing the development of a modern library as a center of digital competencies and new electronic services. Practical methods and the sequence of their application in the context of enhancing existing and potential opportunities to ensure advanced digital development of the library are determined.
