Abstract

The article provides information on the features and ways of ensuring the quality of professional training in technical institutions of higher education. In particular, the concept of «quality of higher education» and its features are considered taking into account different points of view on this object. Object of research are directions of improvement of quality of professional training in technical institutions of higher education. The purpose of this article is to substantiate ways to improve the quality of professional training in technical institutions of higher education in order to ensure the development of professional competence of graduates of engineering specialties. The problem of ensuring the quality of higher education is determined by a number of normative documents, in particular the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education» and has been widely discussed in scientific publications. This is due to the fact that the system of higher education is in a state of active reform in the direction of the Bologna Declaration, with a view to approaching the European standards of higher education. The article analyzes publications on the issue of ensuring the quality of educational process in technical institutions of higher education and found that perspective ways in this direction are standardization of the content of higher technical education, introduction of a competent approach, integration of theoretical and professional training, formation of motivation to self-improvement during all professional activities and the use of state-of-the-art technologies and innovations. Prospects for further research are the development of approaches to the targeted assessment of the quality of education as a whole, and for a specific stakeholder group.
