Abstract

Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fr. (WF-3-8) and, Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fr. (68-SA-R-7) which were isolated from imported wheat flour and rural home-made miso and reported to produce aflatoxin were reexamined on their productivity of this mycotoxin. The detailed experiments comprising measurements of UV and fluorescence spectra of spots similar to aflatoxin on TLC, indicated that the former strain produces aflatoxin B group, but the latter never produces any kind of aflatoxin.
