Abstract

A new polymer composition based on hybrid sol-gel material for the immobilization of glucose oxidase on the surface of the Prussian blue-modified screen-printed graphite electrodes has been designed. Methods for the glucose oxidase immobilization onto the surface of Prussian blue-modified graphite screen-printed electrodes and the existing approaches to the GO immobilization were compared. It was shown that stable electrodes were obtained by the enzyme immobilization into a hybrid sol-gel/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composition (up to 60 successive measurements) and agar gel (up to 45 successive measurements). The main analytical and metrological characteristics for the electrodes were determined. The range of concentrations detected by the modified screen-printed electrode with the enzyme immobilization into a hybrid sol-gel/PVA composition or agar gel was 1.0—5.9 µM and 3.6—6.3 µM, respectively. The designed electrodes were used in the analysis of wine and fermenting material samples. The results obtained using the modified electrodes were shown to differ insignificantly differ from those obtained by high-performance liquid chromatography.
