Abstract

The aim of the paper is to conduct a linguoculturological study of phraseological units of the Udmurt language, in which the constituent elements are lexemes related to different types of traditional economic activities of the Udmurts. The phraseological units identified with the help of lexicographic works are systematised and classified into lexico-semantic groups and subgroups. Scientific novelty of the paper lies in introducing into scientific use the Udmurt idiomatic material that has not been a subject of a linguoculturological analysis until now. As a result, it has been found that the following traditional Udmurt activities are reflected in the phraseology of the Udmurt language: animal husbandry, hunting, agriculture, fishing, beekeeping.
