The purpose of the article is to present the results of the analysis of scientific literature, which allows considering the development of social competence as an integral part of the process of economic socialization of senior school students in US schools. The methodology of the study consists of analyzing and summarizing the totality of the works of foreign and domestic scientists (Campbell, 2015; Cummings, 1978; Devenish, 2017; Staudt, 2016; Taebel, 1978; etc., Grass, 2014; Drobysheva, 2013; etc.). A competency-based approach to the development of social competence is used as a special methodology. Results. The article reveals the most effective technologies for the development of social competencies of senior school students in the United States. The results of the research make it possible to expand the idea of the mechanism of economic socialization of senior school students and the organization of the learning process in the American school aimed at developing social competencies. The productive experience of partnership between the American general education school and business structures can be used in our country, since it is based on long-standing traditions, specific assistance and support of the state. Conclusion. The importance of educational programs implemented in the USA for the development of the social competence of senior school students is that they model the real life of American society, in which they pay great attention to the personal effectiveness of the student himself, helping him to communicate with representatives of different strata of the population, giving a big role to the initiative, associated with the desire to work, be successful, set and achieve the goal. This approach allows creating conditions for students for their expression of personal interest and initiative in solving practical-oriented projects that help senior school students to broaden their horizons and think outside the box when analyzing various situations. Thus, it is obvious that the development of the social competence of schoolchildren is associated with the study of the necessary disciplines and helps them to see the connections of the surrounding world with a specific study task to create a product or service.
