Abstract

The Libyan poet in the modern era was able to make himself a foothold alongside the experiences of Arab poets in the East and the Maghreb, with his specificity that distinguishes each poet from others, as the environment imposes its technical and objective conditions on the poet, so he expresses his environment and society in which he lives his reality and is affected by his issues and concerns.
And because my association with Libyan poetry began a long time ago when I prepared a study for a master’s degree in Libyan poetry entitled:
“The Symbol in Al-Fazani’s Poetic Experience.”
Then my connection with Libyan poetry deepened through my doctoral thesis, which in turn bore the title:
"The Poetry of Hassan Al-Susi and Muhammad Al-Mahdi",
a critical stylistic study The study of Libyan poetry and the search for its images, fantasies, emotion and composition have become an integral part of my research interests. "Similarity in a Diwan on a Gull's Wing" (Al-Baghdadi) It is divided into two sections as follows:
The first topic: the function of analogy in the poetic image.
The second topic: the use of analogy in the book “On the Wing of a Seagull” by Al-Baghdadi. Conclusion: In it, it is proven with the most important results that it reached through studying the role of metaphor in Al-Baghdadi's Diwan "On the Wing of a Seagull".
What I will follow in this study is the stylistic approach that describes artistic phenomena in literary works. God grants success
