Abstract
The influence of the dimensions of a nucleus on the form of the spectra of unique first forbidden transitions is investigated. The results of a theoretical analysis are compared with the experimental results. Experiments are proposed whereby the exactness of the different approximations used in the theory of beta decay could be verified. The questions have a direct relation to the proofs of the presence of weak magnetism during beta decay.
