Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of motor behavior according to the sociodemographic characteristics of persons with physical disabilities and to compare the difference of self-efficacy, decision balance and to verify the validity of the transtheoretical model by analyzing the effect of sub - variables on the level of participation in the exercise. The subjects were residents of the Gyeongnam area, who were participating in physical exercise at the welfare center and physical sports center. Prior to the questionnaire distribution, 359 subjects were selected through convenience sampling. Exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency analysis were performed to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Multivariate analysis was conducted to compare and analyze the level of exercise participation according to the level of exercise participation and demographic characteristics. The regression analysis was performed to confirm the effect of self-efficacy, decision balance, and exercise behavior change on the level of exercise participation. The statistical significance level(p) was set at .05. The results of this study are as follows. First, the distributional difference of the exercise participation level by age group was significant(x²=33.40, df=10, p<.001). Second, According to the analysis of technical statistics according to gender and age, there was a significant difference in the cognitive process, which is a sub - factor of the process of changing the motor behavior, in the 20-30th and 40-50th groups(p<.05). Third, the sub-variable self-efficacy, decision-balancing, and behavioral change process influence the level of exercise participation.
