Abstract

The history of Jumong, the founder of Goguryeo, is recorded as a myth. According to the literature, he is from Buyeo. However, it has yet to be considered exactly where he is from in Buyeo. Jumong myth imitated Dongmyung myth, but it also has its own motives. Among them, Daylight response, Horse breeding and Narrative structure are common with the mythology of nomadic people. And the motifs of Hebo(河伯) and dragons are seen as typical Chinese elements.BR Based on this, it can be inferred that the Jumong group is from the region where the Chinese culture as well as the color of the nomadic culture are strongly touched in the Buyeo. Among the early Buyeo sites, the one that met the same conditions and was notable was Xichagou(西岔溝) site in Xifeng. The patterns of relics excavated from Xichagou relics are a mixture of Buyeo, China and nomadic cultural elements. And since it is a geographical point where three forces intersect, it can be seen that it is a region that matches the character of Jumong group. In addition, it is best suited to Jumong
