Abstract

The development of the new type of parallel hot-wire probe, which is called here as tandem hot-wire probe, is reported. Two hot-wires of a parallel-array probe are connected with the strain guage adhesive. The connection of the two hot-wires improves the directivity. The directivities of mean value and instantaneous value of this probe agree with the cosine curve exactly. Therefore, the three components of mean value and instantaneous value can be measured by this probe. It's response to the turbulence is almost the same with the single hot-wire probe. The three-dimentional turbulence structure of the air flow around a building model is clarified by the wind tunnel experiment, using this probe. 1 Dr., Associate Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo 2 Assistant, Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo
