Abstract

The possibility of synthesizing a tungsten – copper pseudo-alloy using a highly exothermic combustion reaction of silicon in nitrogen as a heating source due to the heat released as a result of combustion, the blanks compressed from tungsten and copper powders (85 wt. % W + 15 wt. % Cu) were heated above the melting point of copper. Burning was investigated. The samples of the obtained pseudo-alloys had a relative density of 0.76. The additive to the initial charge is 0.35 wt. % of the Co powder allowed to increase the relative density to 0.86.
