Abstract

The solar power generation has been studied for a long time after the discovery of the photoelectric effect and it has the advantage that the energy source is closer to infinity. After the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident, as concerns about radioactivity and the interest of green energy have increased, interest in solar power has increased and solar farms are growing in size each year. Typical solar cell modules have a life span of 20 years, and most PV cells, which is also called the solar cell, installed since the 1990s have a short life span and have lower power generation efficiency. Therefore, a detection method for old PV(Photovoltaic) cells is required. In this paper, we proposed a detection method for the old PV cells. The proposed detection method has advantages that is easier and cheaper than the conventional method. To verify the validity of the proposed method, we performed a computer-aided simulation and experimentation.
