Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare methods and criteria for calculating M&V baselines at home and abroad. Results of this study are summarized as follows. First, compared to Korea, foreign guidelines suggested that new buildings and saving technologies could be applied to appropriate situations by subdividing them, such as complex and unreliable collection data. Second, domestic simulation methods are difficult for non-specialists to utilize and the reliability of their results might be problematic. However, in case of overseas, non-experts also suggested that applying the minimum standard efficiency of the facility and the way of utilizing the energy code could facilitate M&V. Therefore, domestic guidelines and non-specialists can contribute to the activation of energy efficiency projects and accurate performance calculation by calculating standardized criteria for M&V utilization.
