Abstract

Several efforts have been deployed to cure liver cancer, a high malignant hepatocellular carcinoma in adolescents. However, some challenges such as drug resistance, relapse, and tumor metastasis remain owing to the existence of cancer stem cells (CSCs). There is an urgent need to develop cost-effective and safe therapies. The study was performed to investigate the effects of hesperidin extracted from tangerine peel. Hesperidin (HES), a flavonone glycoside isolated from the citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges, has been reported to have many biological properties including anti-inflammatory, antialleregy activities. The present study aimed to investigate the ability of hesperidin to suppress the migration and invasion of huh7 cells, and to investigate the role of the CXCR-4 cascade in this suppression.
