Abstract

Collected and summarised are materials on the presence of three species of felines (Felidae) in the village of Libukhova in the Eastern Beskids in Lviv Oblast, Ukraine: the domestic cat (Felis catus), the wild cat (Felis silvestris), and the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx). The possibility of hybridisation between the two species of the genus Felis is also described. The material of the article includes both the author’s original observations and oral reports of locals. Both modern registrations and observations in the late 20th century are analysed. The study showed that cats, with the exception of domestic cats, are rare species in the studied area.
