Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the face-off in the 2015-2016 Asia League Ice-hockey game. This study analyzed all 48 matches of team H, who won the 2015-2016 regular season. The purposes of this analysis, the face-off area was divided into DZ(Defense Zone), NZ(Neutral Zone), OZ(Offense Zone) with 9 face-off spots in the ice rink. Data obtained were analyzed according to 9 spots in the form of frequency and percentage. As a result, it was been that most winning have been make from OZ1(61.44%) in the offense zone. The lowest winning was DZ2(43.61%) in the defense zone. In conclusion, it is needed to develop the analysis system which can offer the advanced analysis information to the face-off in ice-hockey games. Especially, coaches and players should analyze and prepare how to win face-off in the defense zone.
