Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the structure of the media concept DIGITAL ECONOMY in the media discourse of English-language media. The paper provides an overview of the theoretical and methodological approaches of researchers to the linguistic representation of the studied media concept in the scientific literature; the structure of the media concept DIGITAL ECONOMY in English-language media is given. The content of the cognitive layers of the core of the media concept DIGITAL ECONOMY is determined. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the fact that the concept sphere of DIGITAL ECONOMY was analyzed for the first time and the components of the field organization of the DIGITAL ECONOMY concept structure were determined, considering this social phenomenon for the society. As a result of the study, the core of the media concept DIGITAL ECONOMY was identified. It includes the cognitive layers “Data”, “Technology”, “Digital skills”. The center-periphery of the media concept consists of cognitive layers: “Artificial intelligence”, “Cryptocurrencies” and “Platform companies”. The concept components of the far periphery are “Digital giants”, “Cashless payment”, “Digital Economy Act” and “Corporation tax”. Determining these components will provide an opportunity to present an objective linguistic picture of the world, functioning in the discourse of English-language media.
