Abstract
CEO(Chief Executive Officer) who lead the corporation have a great influence over the whole business management, and CEO"s responsibility for the performance of the firm is absolute. Recently, CEO"s ability to manage the company"s management is becoming more important, and the interest of CEO is increasing. This study examines identified how CEO"s celebrity affects corporate performance. To examine the relationship between of CEO"s celebrity and corporate performance, This researcher extracted and analyzed data from 2013 to 2015 for 250 listed and unlisted companies in the korean securities market in 2016. The results of this study show that the higher the CEO"s celebrity, the higher the corporate performance(ROA) of the firm and the more significant the t+2 business performance than the t+1 business performance. In addition, CSR and R&D have a positive(+) effect on the relationship between CEO celebrity and firm t+2 corporate performance. This shows that time-lag effect appears by affecting the t+2 management performance more than the t+1 corporate performance. In this dissertation, it is meaningful to expand the field of research on CEO "s celebrity by looking over the determinants of CEO" s celebrity, finding at the relationship between CEO"s celebrity and corporate performance and moderating effects of CSR and R&D. It is expected to give many implications to researchers studying the field of CEO‘s celebrity.
