Abstract

This study was initiated to extract information based on open BIM and to use it for design VE item review and to serve as a basis for BIM data creation criteria and quality review for Design VE. In particular, design knowledge can be acquired by inferring relationships stored in the graph database, so that the review can be carried out on the implications inherent in the design, moving away from a simple logical review. This will allow for a higher level of review than the traditional ruleset-based verification method. The method of utilizing the graph data presented in this study will be able to suggest alternatives through inference from the qualitative review items of the Design VE and may be the cornerstone of the design VE review method using BIM. Future research will require the substitution of practical examples of design VE items into the prototypes proposed in this study, and will need to be developed after verification by the relevant experts.
