Abstract

As the number of patients infected with COVID-19 discharged from hospitals continues to increase, the emergence of Long Covid has become a new global health crisis after acute infections, involving respiratory, circulatory, neurological, digestive, and psycho-cognitive systems, with variable duration and severity, severely affecting the physical and mental health of patients, as well as the development of countries.BR Based on the stress and coping perspective, this study explores the mechanism of the influence of role stress in the daily health management of “Long Covid” patients on the willingness to pay for digital medical platforms.BR The study used a structural equation model and stress and coping theory to construct a model with a sample of 371 “Long Covid” patients to conduct an empirical study. The study showed that: role ambiguity and role conflict motivated coping strategies (doctor-patient relationship maintenance and health management ability improvement) of “Long Covid” patients; coping strategies had a significant influence on the willingness to pay for digital medical platforms; and whether and to what extent role stress influenced behavioral outcomes depended on “Long Covid” patients
