Abstract

The For the purpose of obtaining the data for the development of technical instruction & training program for the improvement of athletic performance of domestic squash players by understanding differences in game contents between foreign excellent players and domestic excellent players, this study quantified the variables of game based on the game recording sheet by collecting the video data of 80 games in ‘CATHAY PACIFIC SUN HUNG KAI FINANCIAL’ held in 2017, the 97th Chungcheongnam-do National Athletic Competition 2016, and the 16th Korea National Squash Championship. Using the SPSS/PC Window V21.0 Program through the calculated game records, the xSUP2/SUP test was performed to understand differences in total rate of technical trial, scoring pattern, scoring technique, and scoring region. In order to understand differences in hours of game and the number of rally, the independent sample t-test was conducted, and the conclusions were drawn as follows. First, in the rate of technical trial, the foreign excellent players showed the higher rate of drive trial than domestic excellent players. Second, in the hours of game and the number of rally, the foreign excellent players showed the higher hours of game and the number of rally than domestic excellent players. Third, in the scoring pattern, the foreign excellent players showed the high rate of technical success and low rate of technical failure. Fourth, in the scoring technique, the foreign excellent players showed the high drop, drive, and volley drop in order while the domestic excellent players showed the high drive, drop, and cross drive in order. Fifth, in the scoring region, the foreign excellent players were highly shown in C, D, and A regions while the domestic excellent players were highly shown in C, D, and E regions.
