Abstract
Modifications were made in Taira's method developed in 1978 for the detection of Fasciola eggs. To facilitate filtration, a 60-mesh metal sieve 2.5 cm in diameter was attached to the centrifugation tube used fbr the original method. With it, the rate of egg detection amounted to 64.22% on the average. After several trials with the modified technique, a new technician could obtain almost the same results of egg counting as a skilled worker could. Taira's method with these modifications was demonstrated to be highly practicable.
