Abstract

Verification method for performance of evacuation safety for converted buildings is presented in this paper. Office property market in Japan experiences liquidity crisis, especially in Tokyo, where completion of a number of huge and high-performance buildings caused the increasing of vacant office space and the decreasing of rental and capital value of old low-performance buildings. Old low-performance buildings have no chance to win the competition in office property market in recent years. Therefore, they have no choice but to be converted themselves from office to other occupancy for survive. In this paper, renovated performance of evacuation safety of converted buildings is analyzed quantitatively, calculating by "Verification method for evacuation safety".
