Abstract

Fatigue strength characteristics of 3mol% Yttrium-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (3Y-TZP) were estimated by fatigue test of 4-point bending. In the fatigue test at the maximum stress; 621 [MPa], the minimum and the maximum stress ratio; 0.105, the stroke changed periodically over the number of repetition of 10^6 times. The phase transformations at the maximum tensile and compressive parts were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis. And then the relation between fatigue strength characteristics and phase transformation were discussed.
