Abstract

The purpose of the research is to develop a landscape typology that explains and presents in a structured fashion all the variety of the images that can be attributed to the landscape genre. The article describes the conducted scientific and practical research of free choice drawings. The paper is novel in that it is the first to explain features of works in the landscape genre through their authors’ psychological characteristics. As a result, the researchers have created a psychogenetic typology of landscape, which includes eight types of landscapes (rhythmic, decorative, emphatic, enumerating, organic, haptic, imaginative and structural), each of which is associated with a certain C. G. Jung psychological personality type of its author.
