Abstract
The effect of NaNO3 in NaCl solution as a pitting corrosion inhibitor for Al-1%Fe alloy is explained by the use of a linear corrosion model. It turns out that NaNO3 0.07M or more in concentration is required to inhibit pitting corrosion of the alloy in aerated 0.1M NaCl solution.
